Overview
The touchscreen displays the status of Model Y at all times. What you see
depends on whether the vehicle is:
Parked (shown below)
Driving
Charging
When Model Y is parked, the status area shows
Indicator Lights
Indicator lights display along the top of the instrument
panel to show status and alert you of specific vehicle
conditions.
A brake system fault is
detected or the

When Model Y is driving (or ready to drive), the touchscreen shows your current
driving status and a real-time visualization of the road as detected by the
Autopilot components (see About Autopilot

Airbag Warning Indicator
The airbag indicator on the
touchscreen
remains lit if the airbag system is
malfunctioning. The only time this indicator
should light up is briefly when Model Y first
powers up, in which case it turns off within
a few seconds. If it remains lit, contact
Tesla immediately and do not drive.

To Use the Mobile App
To set up the Tesla mobile app to communicate with
your Model Y:
1. Download the Tesla mobile app to your phone.
2. Log in to the Tesla mobile app by entering your Tesla
account credentials.
3. Enable mobile access to your Model Y by touching
Controls > Safety > Mobile Access (see Control
